From Zero to Online Presence: My Bootstrap Blueprint

Here is a list of the things I did when I was first starting out in this industry:

  1. I opened a brand new Facebook account and focused on only adding people who were like-minded with the interests of online business, work from home, make money online, MLM, affiliate marketing, internet marketing, crypto enthusiasts and home based business.
  2. I searched and located MANY groups within these fields and joined those groups. Making certain that these groups were generic and not geared toward a specific company. The reason for this, is because my goal was to create influencer posts within these groups and to create connections.
  3. I would create an enticing post regarding an opportunity (never mentioning the name of the company). Copy and pasted the same post into 100 groups per day, every single day for months and had it lead to a capture page which put them on my autoresponder list.
  4. At the same time, while in those groups, I would comment and ‘like’ several posts within that group so that people would start seeing my posts.
  5. Because I was doing #4, people would visit my profile, so it was essential that my profile/timeline was fully optimized to present myself and my business as one that people would want more information about. Taking the time to create the best profile possible to represent myself and what I do (meaning; working from home, the goal of retiring, building an online business, etc.)
  6. I made sure to join groups of any of the projects I worked with, while also developing relationships with others in the same company. Why? Because when you have established relationships, people are more likely to be curious about other opportunities you come across.
  7. I took the same content I created (blog posts, timeline posts, videos) and posted them across Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube because I only had to create it ONCE.
  8. I used a free screen record software and started creating short videos on ‘Internet Marketing Tips’ and posted both on YouTube and my other social media channels. Now a days, you could simply ask ChatGPT or Gemini for easy tutorial topics to create and then make them.
  9. No matter what company I was working with, I made myself stand out by giving value. If someone had a question, I would give the answer, create helpful tips, tutorial videos, create graphics, make myself known to the leaders and volunteer my services as a moderator. This allowed for me to catch the eye of others as an ‘authority’ in the business and the industry of online marketing, leading to further relationships and business dealings.
  10. I attended as many events in person as I was able to.

These are just some of things I did. I rarely bought online leads or traffic back then, because I was starting on a very small budget.

Even though free methods were more time consuming, I was willing to do them, and I did do them, without fail, without complaints, and without giving up.

It was a little more work in those days, but the methods still apply. If I had to do it all over again, I’d build several businesses at once using this lead and team building approach.
